My Story

Where it all began

My love for photography started during my time as a ski instructor. Armed with GoPros and compact Nikon pixel cameras, I began filming the action and capturing the atmosphere in the mountains. That’s where I first discovered the power of photography and video editing — learning to tell stories through frozen moments and short films. Photos were a little more blurry back then.

A way to remember

Later, while serving in the Royal Marines, photography became more than a creative outlet — it became a way to remember. I travelled extensively in extreme and unpredictable conditions, and photography helped me make sense of those moments. It gave me a way to document the rawness, the beauty, and the unexpected calm in wild places.

Slowing down during lockdown

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, I found myself returning to photography with a renewed focus. I’d go on long walks near home, taking time to photograph landscapes and local wildlife. The stillness gave me a deeper appreciation for my surroundings and sharpened my eye for detail — skills I carry forward into every project today.

Setbacks and new gear

My first proper camera was a Nikon D7200, bought when I decided to take photography more seriously. It served me well — until it was stolen during a skydiving trip in California. That moment, although frustrating, marked a new chapter. I replaced it with my current kit: a Nikon D7500 paired with a 18–300mm lens — a setup that’s taken me across the UK and beyond.

Capturing challenge and beauty

One of my recent projects involved an attempt to climb Gran Paradiso in the Italian Alps. It was a tough challenge, but also a chance to shoot some truly striking alpine scenery. Moments like that remind me that even when nature tests you, there’s always beauty to take away.
